"Billing has been easy and normal"
I’ve been using Shudder for a few months now, and the billing has been totally straightforward. The same amount comes out when it’s supposed to, and I haven’t seen any random extra charges or anything sketchy on my card. I did pause it once too, and that showed up correctly on the next bill. So yeah, simple, which is pretty much all I want from a subscription

"Worth it for the originals"
I’d say I keep shudder around mostly for the originals. Maybe 6 or 7 out of every 10 I try are at least interesting, and a few are genuinely really good. I like that a lot of the smaller horror movies feel different from the usual stuff you see everywhere else. Not everything hits for me, but enough of it does that I don’t mind keeping the subscription.

"Great for horror, but the streaming limit gets a little annoying"
I do really like Shudder, especially when I’m in the mood for horror or just want to browse something weird and creepy. The selection is solid, and I’ve found a bunch of stuff I probably wouldn’t have watched anywhere else. But yeah, the simultaneous streaming limit can be kind of irritating if someone else in the house is using it at the same time. It doesn’t happen constantly for me, so it’s not a dealbreaker, but when it does, it’s one of those little annoying things. Still, I think it’s worth having overall if you’re into horror.

"Roku’s solid, but the app could be smoother"
Overall, the Roku works fine and does what I need it to do. Reading between the lines, though, the main weak spot is the phone app. It’s convenient when it works, but it does glitch sometimes, which can get a little annoying. Not a dealbreaker, just something I’ve noticed using it day to day.

"I was able to log in just…"
I was able to log in just fine, no problems at all. I also got the email/receipt confirmation afterward, so everything felt straightforward

"Surprisingly decent horror selection here"
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Shudder in my area, and I was kind of confused at first because I assumed half the library would be missing. But then I started searching around and somehow found a bunch of horror movies I couldn’t get on my other apps.

There are still a few titles that don’t show up, which is a little annoying, but overall I’m happy with it for the price. The regional selection ended up being way better than I thought it would be...

"Shudder’s recommendations have been really pretty…"
Shudder’s recommendations have been really on point for me. Once I watched a few slashers and some older weird movies, it started suggesting stuff I actually wanted to click on instead of just pushing the big popular titles. Every now and then it’ll throw in something random that doesn’t really fit, but it doesn’t happen too often. I’ve found a couple movies I probably never would’ve searched for on my own. Giving it 4 stars because it’s good, just not perfect.

"Offline viewing has been really useful"
I use Shudder a lot when I’m traveling and the offline downloads have been great. I usually save a few horror movies before a flight or, actually, before I know my wifi is going to be bad, and they play without any issues. I don’t really have much to complain about. It just makes the app way more useful for me...

"Finally, cancellation without a fight"
I expected this to be another annoying situation where I’d have to jump through hoops just to stop my plan, because that’s usually how these things go for me. But surprisingly, it was done in minutes with no stress at all. I was actually relieved it didn’t turn into a whole ordeal.

"Shudder actually works, unlike a lot of other apps"
I’ve been using shudder on my Roku and my phone for a few months now, it works great. The app opens fast, and I barely deal with crashes, which makes me even more annoyed at other streaming apps that somehow still can’t get the basics right. My WiFi isn’t exactly amazing, but shudder still streams smoothly without making me sit there blaming my router every five minutes. Shows pick up right where I left off too, and yeah, that seems like a small thing, but it matters. The search could be a little better, I’ll admit that. It’s kind of plain. But overall, the app does what it’s supposed to do: easy to browse, easy to watch, and no weird lag ruining everything. 5 stars from me.

"Surprisingly Smooth Streaming"
I’m happy with it. It almost never buffers for me, even when I’m watching late at night and expecting it to get annoying. It works really well on my TV, so overall it’s been a nice, stress-free experience.

"Free Trial Was Okay, But the App Let Me Down"
I tried the free trial the content itself was decent. But whoever’s in charge of the app performance really needs to sort it out, because it kept lagging and made the whole experience more frustrating than it should’ve been...

"I had trouble logging in, so I reached…"
I had trouble logging in, so I reached out to shudder support. They got back to me faster than I expected. The issue was fixed without a lot of back and forth. I did have to wait a little. Still, the help was good overall.

"I hit play and was like, yep…"
I hit play and was like, yep, this works. The captions are clear, synced up properly, and I didn’t run into anything annoying. No complaints from me.

"Heaven for Classic Horror Fans"
Oh my gosh, this place is an absolute treasure if you love old scary movies. They’ve got so many classic horror picks that I felt like I hit the jackpot. I’m ridiculously happy

"Pretty good for the price"
I’ve been using it quite a bit, for the price it seems like a solid buy. Nothing fancy to overthink, but it’s been working well for me so far

"A fun find for weird horror nights"
I’ve had shudder for a bit now, and my favorite thing is how curated it feels. It doesn’t come across like someone just tossed a bunch of horror movies into an app and called it a day. There are older slashers, foreign horror, and these odd little gems I’d never heard of, which is exactly the kind of stuff I like stumbling into.

Not everything I’ve watched has been a winner, but the collections make it really easy to poke around until something catches my eye. Small personal win: I actually found a movie my friend had been trying to remember for years, so now I’m apparently the horror recommendation person. If you’re into the weirder side of horror, it’s definitely worth it.

"Mostly Smooth, Until It Isn’t"
It streams well most of the time, which is great, until it randomly decides I’ve had enough entertainment and starts buffering. Not a dealbreaker, just a little reminder that patience is apparently part of the subscription.

"Good for horror, but the slow updates wear me out"
I do like Shudder and I still end up finding good movies to watch, but some months the new releases feel slow. After a long day when I’m already mentally drained, I just want to open it up and see something fresh without digging around too much. I just wish there was more new stuff added every week

"Plenty to Watch, Though It Can Be Hit or Miss"
I usually manage to find something different to watch here, which is nice. That said, I do end up scrolling longer than I’d like sometimes, and not everything is worth sticking with. Still, there’s enough variety that I don’t feel completely stuck watching the same old stuff.
